Shiplap Wallpaper In Bedroom

I am soooo excited about this post because I have my first shiplap wall! Well, it's wallpaper that looks like shiplap! If you follow me on Instagram you may already know that I tackled a couple wallpaper projects recently. I've been loving everyone's beautiful shiplap walls out there, but shiplap feels rather peramanent, and I'm worried that I would get tired of it and then I'd be stuck with drywall full of holes. So that's how I came to the decision that peel and stick shiplap wallpaper was my best bet. If you saw my post about my kids' playroom under the stairs recently, you may know that I wallpapered a small wall for my first wallpaper project. I felt confident going in that I would be able to get this wallpaper up without too many issues.

It was a little tougher this time around with a few more intricate cuts to make, but overall the project was still fairly easy. The biggest issue I had was that I accidently dropped the wallpaper when part of the back was already peeled off. So this caused the sticky back of the wallpaper to stick to itself, and that was quite the process trying to pull it apart! I managed to salvage that piece, but I felt like I stretched it all out and it was now full of creases. Surprisingly, it still stuck to the wall no problem, and you can't even tell which piece that happened too. (Hopefully I won't find it on the floor a few days from now!)

The other issue I had was only because I did not want to open another roll to complete the small area above the door. I had a bunch of smaller pieces left over, and I was hoping to be able to use those in the space. The pattern on the pieces ended up not matching up perfectly with the rest of the wallpaper, so I made do and patched it the best I could. I honestly don't think it is that noticeable, so I'm pleased that it all worked out and I saved a little money on not having to use the extra roll.

I asked my daughter what she wanted above her bed, and she decided she wanted a wreath! So I made a couple simple hoop wreaths out of embroidery hoops, some greenery and florals, and hot glue. It was a late night craft project that I threw together and I actually love how they turned out! I think they are the perfect contrast to the shiplap wallpaper.

I love this ruffled white comforter set that my daughter has on her bed. The frills make it so pretty and girly, and it's the perfect bedding set for her room. The long, textured pink pillow was a HomeSense find.
